Cookie Policy

What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile phone) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently, to remember your preferences, and to provide information to the website owner.

Cookies can be:

  • Session cookies – temporary files deleted automatically when you close your browser
  • Persistent cookies – stored on your device for a set period of time, or until you delete them
  • First-party cookies – set directly by Centellic
  • Third-party cookies – set by external service providers whose features are embedded on our pages (e.g., performance, video players)

Similar technologies, such as web beacons, pixel tags, and local storage, may also be used alongside cookies. References to ‘cookies’ in this Policy include all such technologies.

Legal Basis – PECR Reg. 6 | ePrivacy Directive Art. 5(3): We obtain your consent before placing any cookie that is not strictly necessary for the operation of our website. Strictly necessary cookies do not require consent as they are essential for the service you have requested.

How We Obtain Your Consent

When you first visit any Centellic website, a cookie consent banner powered by OneTrust is displayed. This banner:

  • Clearly identifies each category of cookie and its purpose
  • Requires a positive, affirmative action from you before any non-essential cookie is set
  • Does not use pre-ticked boxes or default opt-in for non-essential cookies
  • Records your consent choice with a timestamp and consent version number

You may update your cookie preferences at any time by clicking Cookie Settings in the footer of any Centellic page. Withdrawing consent will not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out before withdrawal.

Your Rights: You have the right to withdraw cookie consent at any time. Doing so will prevent the relevant cookies from being set on future page loads. Some website features may not function correctly if certain cookies are disabled – see the “Managing and Disabling Cookies” section for details.

Categorise of Cookies We Use

We use three categories of cookies. The table in each sub-section lists every cookie currently in use, including its name, duration, provider, and specific purpose.

Managing and Disabling Cookies

Cookie Settings Banner

The most straightforward way to manage your cookie preferences is through our consent banner. Click Cookie Settings in the footer of any Centellic page to review and update your choices at any time. Your updated preferences will take effect immediately.

Browser Settings

You can also control cookies directly through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:

  • Block all cookies, or block third-party cookies only
  • Delete cookies that have already been set
  • Receive a notification before a cookie is placed

Impact of Disabling Cookies

Some cookies are essential for our websites to function. If you disable all cookies, you may experience the following limitations:

Cookie Category If Disabled Impact on Your Experience
Strictly Necessary Not possible These cannot be disabled. Required for login, session management, and basic navigation.
Performance Can be disabled No impact on your experience. We will have less information to improve our website.
Third-Party Can be disabled Embedded video content (Vimeo) will not play.

Cookie Data Retention

Cookie data is retained only for as long as necessary for the purpose for which it was collected. Session cookies are automatically deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookie durations are disclosed in the tables in the section “Categorise of Cookies We Use”.

Where performance cookies (e.g., Google Analytics _ga) have a stated duration of up to 2 years, this represents the maximum storage period. Aggregated performance data in our reporting systems is retained for 26 months, after which it is permanently deleted or fully anonymised.

UK GDPR Art. 5(1)(e) – Storage limitation | EU GDPR Art. 5(1)(e): We do not retain cookie-derived personal data for longer than is necessary. Our cookie consent records (managed by OneTrust) are retained for the duration of the consent period plus 3 years, for accountability and audit purposes.

International Data Transfers via Cookies

Some third-party cookie providers (e.g., Google, Vimeo) may transfer cookie data outside the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area (EEA). Centellic ensures that such transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards:

  • For UK transfers: UK International Data Transfer Agreements (IDTAs) or adequacy regulations issued by the UK Secretary of State
  • For EU transfers: Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission, supplemented where necessary by a Transfer Impact Assessment
  • Google Analytics data is subject to Google’s Data Processing Amendment, which includes SCCs and commitments under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework

UK GDPR Chapter V | EU GDPR Chapter V: You can request details of the safeguards in place for international transfers of cookie data by contacting privacy@centellic.com.
